distributed E-learning
Comparison of Opensource E-learning Platforms
Partner: City of Turin
Timespan: 2004-?
This project was divided into three main areas of activity:
- comparison between two E-learning platforms: ATutor 1.4.2 and Moodle 1.4
- Quiz modules: integration between Atutor and Hot Potatoes
- study on conceptual and mind-mapping software for a web course
In the first place the Moodle platform was installed and a test course was created to test its features. Then the same course was transferred to Atutor, in order to compare the strenghts and weaknesses of the two.
Then assessment software has been analyzed, namely QuizFaber and hot potatoes. Functionality and possible integration with the platforms have been inquired.
Lastly mind mapping and conceptual mapping tools have been analyzed to be used as "course maps" for the learners.
